2022 is coming soon with much more exciting news for Pokémon GO game lovers. Pokémon Go is ringing in the new year with a diversity of events and special activities. Over the next few weeks, the Pokémon mobile game will be land with new legendary Pokémon raids, January 2022 Community Day, and a few other in-game events. Here’s everything that’s happening in Pokémon Go in January 2022.

January Research Breakthrough: Onix

New Field Research tasks and rewards will be accessible in Pokémon Go beginning 1st Jan 2022, as will a novel Research Break encounter. Each time you attain a Research Breakthrough in January, you will get a chance to catch the rock Pokémon Onix. On top of that, you will also get some Steelix Mega Energy.

Research Breakthroughs are knotted to the stamps you collected from Field Research tasks. You will earn one stamp for the first task you finish each day, and you need to bring together seven stamps in total to attain a Research Breakthrough. Any stamps you have received last month will transmit over until you attain a Research Breakthrough.

Pokémon Go January Spotlight Hours 2022

Pokémon Go’s weekly Spotlight Hour event will endure in January 2022. Every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. local time, the game will come with dissimilar Pokémon and bonuses, such as huge numbers of XP or candy. You can see January’s full Spotlight Hour timetable underneath:

A few legendary Pokémon are coming into court in five-star raids through January. Heatran will reappearance to the raid rotation on 7th Jan following Kyurem’s withdrawal, while Shock Drive Genesect and Regice will look later in the month. On top of that, Mega Aerodactyl will make its introduction in Mega raids starting 7th Jan. You can see January’s raid timetable below:

January 2022 Community Day

Pokémon Go’s January Community Day takes place on Sunday, 16th Jan. This month’s featured monster is the ice Pokémon Spheal, which will appear in the wild much more commonly than typical through the event. Overall, you will earn triple XP for catching Pokémon, and any Sealeo you grow into Walrein will absorb the Fast Attack Powder Snow and the Charged Attack Icicle Spear.

Mountains of Power event

Pokémon Go is holding a fresh and innovative event called Mountains of Power from 7th Jan to 13th Jan. Few details have been exposed so far, but more info will be publicized as we get closer to the event.
