Pokémon Go has included an innovative and fresh Powered-Up Pokestops feature using the game’s AR Mapping that was familiarised last year. Here is how you can get started powering up Pokestops, and what precisely the novel addition means for Pokémon Go players.
The Pokémon mobile game, Pokémon Go, endures to acclimate and progress since its July 2016 release date. And though it may not be leading the world as it used to before, it still remains to modernize for its huge player base.

According to a blog posted on the Pokémon Go website on 8th December, Pokémon Go’s Powered-Up PokeStops will permit players to “power up certain PokeStops and Gyms for a restricted period of time by implementation of AR Mapping tasks.”
These will appear dissimilar on the map and will deliver additional rewards to players that twist them, as divergent to steady Pokestops.
It will yield more and more scans to level up each stop, making ones in high-traffic zones much more probable to level up faster. Each level is dissimilar in terms of rewards.
- Level 1: Five scans required
- Level 2: 10 scans
- Level 3: 25 scans
How to use Powered-Up Pokestops in Pokémon Go?
To power up one of these novel stops, you will need to be level 20 and do the following:
- Click on the PokeStops or Gym qualified to be powered up and click on the three dots in the upper right.
- Tap SCAN POKESTOP.
- Opt into the feature through the on-screen reminders if it’s your very first time carrying out a scan.
- Tap the record button to start scanning. Keep the topic within the frame, and gradually walk around the subject if possible.
- Tap Upload Later or Upload Now to upload your scan.
A particular date has not yet been decided for when these novel Pokestops will be presented to the game, nor has Niantic itemized just how dissimilar the rewards will be for these advanced stops.
