Eko, a Malayan tiger at the Naples Zoo, was killed after a cleaning worker inserted his arm in the enclosure. After assaulting the guy on Wednesday evening, a Collier County deputy shot the tiger.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, they assaulted the zoo’s third-party cleaning service after caressing or feeding the tiger. According to deputies, the Naples Zoo has not permitted one of these.
The incident was captured by body cam and published by the CCSO on Thursday afternoon. According to preliminary information provided to CCSO authorities, the 8-year-old tiger grabbed the guy’s arm. He dragged it into the enclosure after the man placed his arm over the enclosure’s fence barrier.
According to the sheriff’s office, the first deputy on the scene attempted to persuade the tiger to release the man’s arm after kicking the enclosure. When the deputy was compelled to kill the tiger, he had no choice but to do so.
“Our deputy did all he could in that position, and in the end, he took the only option he could to save this man’s life,” Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “A sad incident occurred at our world-class zoo facilities. The Naples Zoo’s commitment to conservation and education is something we appreciate in our community collaboration.”
