The Critics’ Choice Association, according to People magazine, revealed the announcement on Wednesday, noting that the televised awards event, which they planned to take place in Los Angeles on January 9, will no longer take place.
“After carefully considering and candid conversations with our collaborators at The CW and TBS, we have communally determined that postponing the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards, which were originally scheduled for January 9, 2022, is the prudent and responsible decision at this time,” the statement reads.
“We’ve been in daily touch with LA County Public Health authorities, and we’re currently attempting to find a new date during the following awards season when we can hold our annual gala in person while keeping everyone’s safety and health in mind.
